Nearly twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, generating wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Locals observed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Rescue organizations received 598 emergency reports across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28k electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was predicted as the wettest day, with persistent storm activity anticipated across different parts of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
