The Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Meeting Against defending champion Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros securing the championship in 2017.
Canada's MLB team advanced to their initial championship series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive seventh game of the ALCS.
Trailing three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run blast in the seventh frame, propelling the only Canadian franchise in the majors to a 4-3 win in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Dodgers, holders of the defending champions, in the forthcoming World Series.
"I'm just so happy for everyone here, Toronto, Canada," said Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "This is such an incredible feeling."
The veteran has now connected for 23 total post-season home runs, placing him third on the list behind Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"There's probably not another person in the world that I'd choose in that situation except for him with his post-season brilliance," noted Schneider.
Seattle's team, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, are still the sole team never to appear in a World Series.
Mariners manager Dan Wilson said "without a doubt that it hurts" in the wake of his club's elimination at Rogers Centre, but applauded their efforts this season.
"This is a unique group. Sadly that we ended up on the losing end of this game," he continued.
Toronto's team secured the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Dodgers in the first game on Friday.
