The visionary game developer, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The renowned game designer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
